The U.S. Secretary of Commerce rescheduled a public hearing regarding the controversial 241 Toll road extension. Attend the September 22, 2008 hearing by the Orange County Transportation Corridor Authority at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, Del Mar California.
In February, the California Coastal Commission (CCC) voted to deny a 6 lane toll highway that would cut through San Onofre State Beach. Over 3,000 people attended the hearing - making it the largest meeting in Commission history. But, toll road developers refuse to accept the ruling and are asking the Federal Government to overturn the Commission's decision. Beach Boy Brian Wilson, enshrined in both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, author of classic songs "Good Vibrations," "God Only Knows" and "Surfin' USA," and the creative force behind all-time classic album "Pet Sounds," is featured at this year's Kennedy Center Honors.

Dave Bruer of the Fathers Resource Center was killed recently in a motorcycle accident. Dave was a committed advocate who helped many, many fathers with their custody and family law problems. Dave began working as an advocate for fathers nearly 20 years ago. He brought the Fathers Resource Center - which formed to help fathers with issues such as paternity to domestic abuse, to custody and visitation - to Encinitas in 1997. He was a great fan and promoter of Surf Music.

 “Delightful Rain” is a celebration of Australian surf music and our beach culture over  the last five decades. Filmed and recorded between May 13th and 27th 2006, in the  Freshwater Surf Life Saving Club, right on the beach at Harbord on Sydney’s North Shore, and looking out over the water where in 1915 Hawaiian Duke Kahanamoku introduced surfing to Australia. This was a unique recording project. “Delightful Rain” gathered together some of Australia’s greatest ever surf music artists to record material, old and new, and to tell  their  stories and to  celebrate the journey of Australian surf music. A Performance from the Past

The Duotones performance Saturday, November 22, 2003 on Garrison Keilor's Prarie Home Companion. It was braoadcast live from the San Diego Civic Theatre (was sold out) on Minnesota Public Radio.

The recent ruling by the Copyright Royalty Board to increase webcasters' royalty rates between 300 and 1200 percent over the next 5 years jeopardizes the industry and threatens to homogenize Internet radio.
